An article in Monday's Infoworld cast doubt on the supposed deal. One money manager was quoted as saying it makes no sense to him (It does make some sense to me, especially because Intel is flush with cash following a cutback in capital spending, and those dollars go a long way in most of Asia today) As you say , the companies aren't talking. To me this indicates they are probably discussing a deal but haven't committed yet.
It is nice to see Intel going up again.
