3Dfx Chief Scientist Gary Tarolli gave his views on insider selling today on a 3Dfx newsgroup. I think he makes a reasonable case:

>>> If I owned $20 million of TDFX I would sell a few million now and know what ever happened I would have enough cash to live comfortably. They are just playing it safe and not keeping all their eggs in one basket.

Exactly! Consider selling stock similar to cashing a paycheck, except some of us have been waiting 4 years to cash. Also look at the % of stock sold.

Any financial advisor would tell you to diversify your holdings and that is what some of us are doing, not to mention paying off debts accumulated during the last 4 years. Selling 10% of your stock every year is no big deal, even 20% might be prudent.<<<
