Seth,
While you had Noam on the phone, did you ask him for more explanation of the WDM announcement? I know you, like me, are not a techie, so I wouldn't expect you to engage him in a technical discourse but if you have his ear you could at least tell him the techies on this thread had trouble understanding the WDM announcement. (That's the impression I got.)

Question 2) Have you done the math on the dilution from the convertible? Is the price drop today just an adjustment for the dilution or is it more?

Lastly, I found the following on my Zacks overnight service. It indicates to me that the new PR person is trying to communicate better with the non-techie public.

LITTLETON, MASSACHUSETTS, U.S.A., 1998 JUN 22 (NB) -- Networking
Roundup. MRV Communications Inc. [NASDAQ:MRVC] subsidiary Xyplex
Networks has announced the EdgeGuardian full-service wide area network
(WAN) router with integrated hardware VPN (virtual private network)
technology.

The router is based on the IPSec standard for secure network
connections using the Internet.

The company says EdgeGuardian "enables companies to address their
requirements for secure network connections over the public network
and save significantly on long-distance line charges."

To secure the packets of information traveling over the VPN,
EdgeGuardian reportedly uses a hardware implementation of the layer 3
IPSEc protocol to perform authentication and hardware encryption.

The company says EdgeGuardian lets users create secure "client
tunnels," client connections to the network, or "network tunnels,"
network to network connections.

Available now, EdgeGuardian is priced at $9,995.

Hope it's cooler up there than it is here. It's like Dante's Inferno here in Florida complete with smoke. Reminds me of Palo Alto on bad smog days back in the 60's.
