Well, that doesn't surprise me. And not that changing names and websites will help them in any way.

Undoubtedly, it's about time I bit the bullet and requested possession of my InnovaCom's stock certificates and use them to wallpaper my new TV room, all decked out with Sony DV equipment.

Yeah... that ought to put everything in the proper perspective.

After Monday's story about events at video compression firm InnovaCom Inc (CI No 3,436), the company got back to us to clarify what is happening. Apparently, it closed down its ASIC project because it ran out of money, and will no longer continue development of the DVImpact MPEG-2 encoder for the same reason. A spokesman for the company said that "in the past, too many announcements went out talking about fou-fou," while the new InnovaCom management team won't release details of new products until they are ready to go to market. The company will still sell its DV2100 MPEG-2 encoder .
