I understand IFLY is a discounter. They have access to consolidated/wholesale tickets, (esp. for international markets) that they resell to individual customers. In a nutshell, they have such a high volume, that the airlines are willing to sell them some seats well below the published fare for the lowest classes of service.

The competition (travelocity/easysabre, flifo, expedia ) only provide their customers with published fares.

I just called IFLY (1-800-low-airfare) and asked for San Francisco to Paris: out 29Jun , return 9 Jul... short notice

They quoted me, everything included (taxes,..) 942.00.

This is below the lowest published fare of any airline. I haven't checked, but I'm pretty sure that none of these online travel services will be able to go below USD 1000 for those exact same days, same destination...probably USD 100 more.

The price is actually pretty competitive with most other consolidators I have access to.

If they manage to put those discounted fares on the web.. they'll definitely have a serious edge over the other expedias and travelocity's. Try it out, esp on internatinal routes..I think there's a good chance they'll be lower.

Just my opinion, of course.
