Ed, while it was an expected event it is not a non event. Volume is up sharply. This status for a drug that is close to a decision on approval makes XOMA a more valuable company in $ terms. It also increases the awareness of XOMA. It will hasten the decision making process of any of those who are considering doing a deal with XOMA. It will embolden the XOMA champions who sometimes even speak on T.V. It will increase the resolve of shareholders to hold or buy more. It weakens the resolve of the shorts. It means more press coverage. It may lead to more interest by mutual fund managers. It means more post by the Yahooligans trying to prove it means nothing. <g> But most of all for a non event the volume indicates what we might expect for a real event like approval. Buy now or wait for approval? Standard wisdom has been wait. Time will tell if this was the correct decision. Standard disclaimers apply but these thoughts are not totally worthless like some say theirs are.
