sometime ago I was wondering why u.s. chip companies were not "upgrading technologically" in this climate (while their s.e. competitors were in dire financial straits) so as to achieve a competitive (productivity) edge on their competition. seems like some u.s. companies have decided to take that approach.

Okay seppo....if it makes you happy, in anthropological terms maybe Ron meant to say Worswick's generalizations about the Chinese people were "ethnocentric" rather than racist.

Personally, I'd say they were both.
