Jim:

I completely concur with your thoughts on this unprepared "expert" on CNBC, and his unprofessional response on Novell. Doesn't make his investment house look good either. I wonder, though, if these analysts are required to read some "MSNBC" waiver before they go on the show, agreeing that they would never say anything disparaging about MSFT during their stock picking segment <grin>?

One thing is for sure, Bill Gates knows what going on with Novell, yet the investment community isn't quite yet seeing the light. Today's large-cap tech blowout was interesting, as NOVL was the gem during the nasdaq sell-off of the past few weeks, and now its on the sidelines as big movers DELL, MSFT, INTC and CSCO (to name the larger ones) moved the nasdaq up strongly today, as well as yesterday, in anticipation of good earnings among other things (e.g. MSFT - Appeals Court decision).

Thanks for the information Jim!

Ah but we can learn something from this CNBC talking head

First if you depend upon talking heads on TV to know anything or to tell you where to put your money, then you are a complete asshole.

Second, complete assholes don't know anything about Novell, and they don't know anything about TCP/IP, but they do know what they have been told to think is a good investment.

Third, Novell hasn't made that list.

Fourth, Novell hasn't made that list.

(Am I stuck here?)

He taps the stylus.

The CNBC "expert" was Alan Hoffman of Value Line Asshole Management. Errr---I mean Asset Management.

The caller was someone whose "pick"/question had not been reviewed in advance. His call went through by accident.

But Hoffmann should have shut up and said "I don't follow it", instead of sounding like a doofus.
