The keynote speakers at the San Francisco Forum are David
Steinberg, biotechnology analyst for Volpe Brown & Whelan, and Kurt
von Emster, portfolio manager for the San Mateo-based Franklin
Biotechnology Discovery Fund (NASDAQ:FBDIX). They will offer their
current insight into the industry and biotech stocks.
Executives from the following companies will give analyst-style
presentations: Protein Design Labs (NASDAQ:PDLI), Sangstat Medical
(NASDAQ:SANG), Megabios (NASDAQ:MBIO), Sugen (NASDAQ:SUGN), Chiron
(NASDAQ:CHIR), Shaman Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:SHMN) and SunPharm
(NASDAQ:SUNP). The eighth presenting company is pending.
On Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Mission Valley Radisson in San Diego,
investors will be treated to a full day of biotech/medical technology
presentations, commentary and insight. It will be the largest
biotech/medical technology forum to date geared primarily to
individual investors. The cost for the full day is $40 prepaid, or $55
at the door (space available). The cost for the morning or afternoon
sessions alone is $25 prepaid, or $40 at the door (space available).

The afternoon session begins at 1:30 with a keynote address by
Michael Yellen, portfolio manager of the GT Global Health Care Funds.
The concluding speaker at 4:30 is Dr. Alex Arrow, Vice
President/Research at Wedbush Morgan Securities. Companies committed
to presenting are: Inhale Therapeutics (NASDAQ:INHL), Medical Science
Systems (NASDAQ:MSSI), Zevex International (AMEX:ZVX) and BioSource
International (NASDAQ:BIOI). Other companies will be announced
