that comment was in response to a comment on the fact that free speech only applies when the government is trying to squelch it

and try to tell to the newspaper that they cant/ shouldnt put something in their newspaper and you will hear the echoes of freedom of speech...even it is not the government trying to squelch

of course indirectly in the bigger scheme of things ...laws and precedent that are put in place concerning speech in different environments are government interaction...and the laws are constantly evolving...so the laws indirectly are government intervening in the speech issue on a jurisdictional basis...

everyone is responsible for what they say...they have the freedom to say it..but they have to pay a price if it violates a law in an appropriate jurisdiction....
