Gator, the problem with your argument is that it depends on the existence of either barriers to entry or brand preferences on the part of purchasers. Oil is a commodity, and I believe it makes no difference to the refiners from whom they purchase oil. Barriers to entry don't obtain because there will always be businesses willing to fund oil field development for the right price. I cannot see how flooding the world with cheap oil advances any country's interests either now or in the future. Could you give me a specific situation in which this might work?

TTFN,
CTC
