Well folks that's a non-denial denial if I've ever read one. ...have been in discussions with 3rd parties -- not currently negotiating -- won't make additional comment until talks are final one way or the other

All the above is paraphrased but it is all blah blah blah that says they won't confirm or deny the rumor --

"Showscan also said that it will make no further announcements with respect to the status of any business combination unless and until a definitive agreement has been reached or until all discussions or negotiations with respect thereto have been abandoned."

In spin parlance (this is what I do for a living so I know from which I speak) this means they are having off the record discussions with a 3rd party that they have reason to believe could become serious and they don't want to screw it all up by talking about it prematurely -- so they are not going to talk about it until the talks (which they say are not occurring) are over.

It also means that if the EM was a scam -- SHOW was in on it -- cause they obviously went out of their way to not kill the idea that they may be taken out. And if they weren't in on it -- it means its true or that SHOW likes what its doing to the share price .

New SHOW release, different spin...

Tuesday June 23, 6:05 pm Eastern Time

Showscan has held talks on combination

LOS ANGELES, June 23 (Reuters) - Showscan Entertainment Inc. said it has held talks with third parties about a possible
business combination, but there are no talks on at the moment.

The producer of movie-based entertainment attractions said there was no assurance negotiations will begin with any party, or that
a definitive agreement will be reached.

In late March, Iwerks Entertainment's shareholders rejected the company's bid to merge with Showscan Entertainment Inc.

Iwerks had agreed in August to buy Showscan.

Showscan said on Tuesday that it will make no further announcements regarding the status of any business combination unless
and until a definitive agreement has been reached, or until all discussions or negotiations with respect thereto have been
abandoned.

COMMENT: This time it says "no talks at the moment", but the other story said "no negotiations at the moment." Also, different headlines.

Maybe the difference is just accounted for by two different reporters with different styles. Or, SHOW recognized the implication of saying "no negotiations" (meaning they are talking with somebody, just not down to hard negotiaitons) and decided to change the wording.

What I find fascinating is that SHOW does not come out and say "We are not talking to IMAX at this moment." Maybe I am reading too much into this, but Trippi does PR as a living, I think he knows of what he speaks.
