Those must have been some good ties if they got your dad tickets to the Yankees. Paisley?

My first big league game was in 1967 when I was 7. My dad took me to Comiskey Park to see the Sox play the Yankees on Fathers' Day. The only thing I remember is my dad telling me to watch closely every time Mantle came up to bat.

The next year, he and my mom took me to St. Louis to watch the Cardinals play on my birthday. It was a surprise on a Saturday and we drove the 300 miles or so on Saturday morning and came back Sunday. I will never forget that. Busch Stadium is still my favorite place in the world, other than my home.

Must ask all you 50s kids. Did you collect baseball cards and did you play this game where you flipped them? I have this really strong memory of going outside with a shoebox and crying because someone won my Ted Williams. What WAS that game? How did they win???? And taking my little radio to fifth grade to listen to the Yankees in the World Series.
One of our favorite movies....Sandlot.
