Joe ..... do you recall when the advertising blitz by COMS is to begin??? What's COMS word of mouth reputation??? Ciscos clunky but good products still seem to be the product of choice. The name Cisco has a rep of quality built in. Cisco sees the writing on the wall and wants to get into COMS's "rice bowl"(SOHO). What's Cisco's chances at dominating this market also??? Cisco is smart and aggressive and has brand loyalty. COMS HAS the product but has to fight Cisco's reputation all the way. Regards, Walt

WCom's UUNET just started offering V.90 dial-up connections at 300,000 ports. Both AOL and MSN use UUNET services, so now you can connect them with V.90 connection. I just tried MSN with V.90 modem and it works in my area at over 49K. People in other areas told me the same, though I haven't seen MSN announced it yet. investor.msn.com ... Adoption of the V.90 standard has been completed in more than 700 U.S. Points of Presence (PoPs) and throughout the UUNET Dial Access Network. Plans to implement the standard in a total of over 500,000 ports are expected to be completed within the year. UUNET offers V.90 dial access at no additional cost to its dialup users. ...
