Barney: That's right Barney. The United States of America was primarily created by deists -- men who believed that a god existed, but did not follow any one religious precept. They were the sons of the Age of Enlightenment. The country was built more on the philosophy of Aristotle than Jesus. Countries built on christianity had just finished dominating the Dark Ages. (Know why they were called the Dark Ages?) The ACLU, often controversial, often left-leaning, is right on this issue.
