That was one of my questions a few months back when I invested in RNWK. Making their player THE STANDARD by giving it away doesn't look like it would make money. However, after extensive web-searching, it is the server software and support programs that seem to be the most likely major sources of revenue. This URL to a page at realnetworks' site shows some of the prices for server software and support...$6,990.00 for 100 streams of realaudio with upgrades and support up to $27,990.00 for 400 streams...more for realvideo and realflash. real.com There seem to be more and more sites who use streaming resources, others will be looking to catch up...I think this will drive revenue for Realnetworks. Nice move again today. I hope everyone is enjoying it. Still rather quiet here. I have been busy too the last two days, and wheat harvest will be starting here tomorrow or Thursday. I remember asking the same question about internet stocks like Yahoo! etc., 2 years ago... I asked the question, and nobody ever had the answer... obviously, there WAS an answer, because look at all of those stocks now!.... how about licensing, selling music, internet radio (just mentioned), charging for new upgrades in the future(I believe they have started this) and a bunch of other things I wouldn't be able to explain with my limited knowledge...anyway, the answer is there, just as in the internet stocks (I think!).... from what I hear (!!) they are the leader in the field just like Netscape before Bill Stugatz stomped on them. ...Don Corleone
