I don't know about everyone else, but I am still looking for the second installment of Dennis' story. I think this is something that we need to know.

The only shred of good news I see in all this is that the new guy has a track record of getting companies acquired. His job is probably to clean up the mess and make this one more attractive to a suiter.

A too must agree with Daved and Alberto it's going to be difficult for InnovaCom to crack the DTV and DVD markets.

However I must say there is a substantial amount of technology developed in the last 2 years by InnovaCom's Software & Systems Group and if they can complete the "MAVnet" & "MAVRack" products and they market them within the niche that I designed them for, then yes they do have a chance of generating some attractive revenue.

The technology we developed is biased around a set of standards originally designed for the server and networking markets. This standard known as I2O is a "open" architecture design to offload the I/O management tasks from the servers CPU. The I20 standard defines a message passing sceme between the Server and intelligent I/O sub systems, the standard defines the message classes for storage & networking devices while allowing the I2O vendors to define additional message classes for vendor specific devices like MPEG encoders, transcoders and decoders.

I think that the real target for InnovaCom's "Transpeg" systems will be companys and organizations with high speed WANS that wish to use MEG & DVD for training and promotional applications. As an example a Transpeg systems will drop in next to the MPEG2 version of Microsoft's Netshow video server/video on demand system. The same is also true for SGI's Mediabase internet video server.

The software & systems group are committed to getting this stuff out the door, and I'm confident that the team is going to stay together long enough to see it happen.

I have no idea how large this market is, but I do feel that the technology has good fit.

On another note I happened to be driving past InnovaCom's office over the weekend. Mark Koz's jeep was out front and he was packing it with all the junk from his office. Looks like his old office is now a conference room and he's not going to even be around the office at all.

Some one is making some good decisions for a change. Time will tell.

I'll try and post the first installment of the Koz stories later this week.
