Bill ; The move up today was still more in the blue chips, the index went up 1.35% ,( the top 10 up 2.10 % the bottom 20 up .95%) so I think they are waiting to see if she can break resistance , they haven't started buying up the bottom ones so far, but IF they do you will have some really big days. We have kind of hit the top of the old trading range, but this time the market is more liquid ( ie more money in the big widely held stocks ..as result of funds having been more cautious as of late.) ------------------ While our market looks high even to me, with interest rates down it can go more, and besides that so many of us have been looking at Asia..well Europe has really out run us a lot too..if I go by the webs I track, we are bringing up the rear. ( other than Asia ). I'm still sceptical about the oil stock bounce, of course in the S&P that is often offset by the transports. Oil up transports down or the other way around. Also the DJI 30 has oil in it, but the transports are separate, that explains why the DJI has lagged behind the S&P.. as transports from last Aug to late April were kicking butt, beating the DJI a lot , it being effected by the oils..going down but not getting the boast that gives the transports. All in all the S&P gives the better picture. IF you want to see a slew of charts at one time try this it should give you the DJ composite , and all the issues in it charted against the S&P500.quote.yahoo.com @^DJC&d=1ys that's tricking Yahoo into doing what she don't normally do. :-) ( book markit ) Jim Ps here is the DJI chartsquote.yahoo.com @^DJI&d=1ys note the @ sign in front of the index..and the &d=1ys on the end that end part you can edit right fast to =3ms , ( three months & s&P or instead of the last letter being s change it to m and you get moving average. this @ sing don't work on the S&P lucky it don't that many charts at one time would likely crash your computer, <G>
