This is very interesting, from RapidResearch.com
Shares # institutions
Date outstanding holding % of stock
6/6 40806000 47 7.5
6/24 40806000 54 8.4

In one of my newsletters a fund manager that buys small caps
(normally priced between $5 and $15, capitalized around $100MM)
said when he took positions in a firm he usually did it 5K shares at a
time. Same when he sold. Food for thought. Certainly puts a chink in
my theory that they make arrangements in advance with the market
makers to buy large blocks of stock at minimal spread.

This is probably a classic example of how a company fails to involve or follow the p.r. depts. advice. If XOMA had simply said we intend to do this trial and the F.D.A. has approved the design, (shared at least some of the details), and the purpose of the trial as well as the implications, I think we would have been better served. XOMA reads these post but so far they have not really answered the most basic questions.

Before the presentation by Falk I asked that shareholders be kept informed asap. Seemed like a great opportunity for XOMA to provide information on what is a very important trial. If the information is confidential then no presentation should have been made. This issue will not go away until XOMA provides more information. How about a vote on the thread? Is this issue being blown out of proportion?
