Dan,

Old Slade's plenty into the "planned economy" when it comes to his buddies in the timber industry looting federal property, but on antitrust matter, he speaks the TRUTH, right? Cool, I still got this small mind problem though.

I don't consider Gortons timber policy to be "planned economy". It's actually quite the opposite. And, although off topic, I will admit that it's difficult to be a Libertarian and a tree hugger. I love ancient forests, clean rivers filled with salmon, wilderness and unspoiled wide open spaces. Finding a way to save what's left of this and at the same time preserve freedom is not easy. I don't know the answers. Wish I did.

Re: Small mind problem. Keep working on it. There's always room to grow. :-)

Regards, JB

Hi Dan,

It's amazing that anyone thinks this is a country based on free enterprise (not you... someone who posted to you, i think).

Getting back to my grinding axe, I think the copyright laws are the problem. We should allow anyone to duplicate and sell anything, then give the originator(s) a cut.

I'll never believe that something like Windows 98 on a CD-ROM is worth $75 bucks or whatever... more like a buck or something.

The same goes for those multi-thousand dollar packages... they'll never convince me those little 1s and 0s, easily duplicated, are worth hundreds or thousands of dollars sitting there on those CD-ROMs.
The premise that media should not be copied is ludicrous on its face.

The copyright laws are the problem.

I don't care if Hollywood goes down in flames at copyright reform, either. <g>

I do think that MSFT sucks less.. <g>

FWIW
Andy
