Minos, Very good question, I'll pass on the short squeeze. you are perfectly correct in assuming you should know the 'patterns' of the stock you follow. Fortunately I've been bullish on RMBS about 6-8 months ago and rode it for a whacky ride then also. So it was a matter of refamiliarizing myself with it. Admittedly, posters on the RMBS thread and Judy were right there when I noticed RMBS up 3 or 4 points on Monday. Had I not been familiar with the the wild gyrations of RMBS in the past, I would have assumed I missed the boat. I looked at news, wasn't shy, asked questions and got a really relevant post from the threaders about why RMBS was on such a strong upswing. I felt the news was extremely important and got confirmation from Judy. It's a lot of luck because I was able to get the options at after RMBS was up 4 points. I really only made about 1 point on the option by the end of Monday, but by tuesday morning it was on the move again. I asked the threaders "Where is this going, do I take profits' and again it's running 6 points 7 points, 8 points and more. The options were moving so quickly, like DELL stock on a good day. For me it was a combined effort of quick replies to frantic questions and no remarkable technical analysis on my part. Credit goes to Jeff, Judy and some of the posters on RMBS thread for 'calling' RMBS bullish last Friday. For me it was the important long range implications of the news article that made RMBS a buy for me rather than any technical analysis. If you have a mind to, minos, go back a day on the thread when i was first asking questions about RMBS, and follow the results and final entry. Go to the RMBS thread and there I am asking my questions today and yesterday! Ironically someone on the RMBS thread who saw my question about the options got on the bandwagon yesterday himself and HE thanked ME for the trade! I still got out at 9 3/4 leaving about 2 points of profit but I was not going to be stuck with options when the shorts came calling.
