Any guess on the current short interest?

By now most if not all short positions are covered or boxed.
I am thinking, maybe shorts are adding fuel to the fire by
covering or boxing, and this further pushes up the price and
attracts new shorts, the new shorts are forced to cover or box, ...

So, this maybe another not to short.

Why the thin float of 5 million, out of 49 million outstanding?

When my former employer went public only a few million shares
went into the market during the IPO. The rest had to wait quite
a while before being allowed to trade. Is it possible the rest
AMZN shares are in some kind restriction? Or is it that these big
shareholders think $92 is not high enough?

We need a higher float!

It's tempting to open a short position, but it was a theoretical statement. I'm not so foolhardy as to get in the way of a runaway train whose boundaries now appear to be limitless.
