Re: WRQ ... Boo, hiss. The Y2K software won't install by itself. It chokes while trying to locate the reporting software, which I guess is in the "metering" package that I didn't download. I pulled a couple of tricks trying to fake out the install program to ignore the reporting module, but it then choked on another module. Both files were being looked for on the "second CD" (on the download, they're on two separate directories). Other files were on that "CD", but apparently not enough to finish the install. I'm giving up. Not interested in another 5 hour download just to get the rest of the files. I suppose I could order the CD's. I would expect the Y2K product to run standalone from the CD's which would most likely have the reporting module. I'm assuming that for optimizing the download version, they only put one copy of the reporting module in the files .. in the 'metering' product's download files. A sneaky way to get you to try both tools. I did peruse the documentation that was downloaded with it. It came in Acrobat format. Very professionally done. If the rest of the product is of the same quality, CSHK will have trouble competing. Note that WRQ is already on Release 3 of their product and has over 5,500 vendor applications identified for Y2K sensitivity. WRQ's Y2K product suite is intended for use as a network administrator tool. The 'metering' tool builds an 'installed applications' database and tracks usage of all applications. This helps the users determine which applications are utilized the most, which then allows them to prioritize their remediation sequence. WRQ has more than one software product, and an attractive website. Regards, TED
