To All, help needed.

I am trying to develop a scan in QP V1 to find stocks
that have just made a reversal on a point & figure chart
however I do not know how to define the scan.

The scan to identify stocks that have reversed into a column
of X's from a column of O's would need to identify stocks
with a high price for the day at least 6% higher than a
previous low price which was at least 6% lower than the
preceding high price.

X X
X O X
X O X
O

Each X represents a total of a 2% increase in price while
each O represents a total of a 2% decrease in price.

Time is not a factor in point & figure so the total 6% increase
and decrease could be over any number of days.

Any help in defining a scan to identify the above would be
greatly appreciated.

Regards
David Jones

Think the error msg was at one of the many unmatched ')'s, Tom.
Don't need the enclosing (...)s because 'and' has lower precedence -- try
------------
output = "!MA and Stoch.lst";
DaysToLoad = 250;
if EMovAvg(0,20,cl) > MovAvg(0,50,cl) and
MovAvg(0,50,cl) > MovAvg(0,200,cl) and
Close (0) > Movavg(0,50,cl) and
Close(0) > Max(-1,-250,cl)*.8 and
Movavg (0,50,cl)>Movavg(-15,50,cl)*1.02 and
Close(0)>= 12 and
Close(0)<= 40 and
AvgVol(0,-29)>= 20000 and
Min(-1,-5,stochPctK) < 30 and
close(0) > close(-1)+.25 then
println symbol , "," , Description;
endif;
--------------
-note that I anally removed anal comments -- sorry ;)
Get 19 hits -- all fine and good until you try to load it and find that QP doesn't like spaces in file names.
"!MA-Stoch.lst" works.
