Gator, if you read the SHOW thread a very good case is made for

why IMAX would be interested in SHOW and how the merger makes alot of sense for them even at $4 per share.

The library...

Valuations are based on future cash flow, not the past.

I think the idea is that SHOW has a great film library which is undervalued. SHOW values its film library based on the number of screens SHOW has. How much could Titanic have made if there were only 100 theaters in the world? This is an exaggerated example, of course, but I hope it gets my point across. IMAX has the screens, SHOW has the library.

I also think that SHOWs connections with Olympics is a plus. Maybe SHOW lost money in the past, but they could make a lot in the future.

Anyway, I think some of the traders who got SHOW for 3/8 are getting out with decent profits. Not much volume. I think only people who actually believe vague press releases are getting out. Notice the SHOW release did not even mention IMAX but basically confirmed the core truth of the rumor, namely, they are talking with people about being bought out. Why hasn't IMAX issued a release? The SHOW press release does not mention IMAX, it evades addressing the rumor by being literal, "we are not in negotiations at this time." Well, did they take a dinner break? Are they on vacation? Why not just say "We have never spoken with IMAX and have no plans to speak to IMAX." Sounds like their press release was written by President Clinton <g>.
