Rentech Update Regarding Negotiations with Texaco

DENVER, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- RENTECH, INC. RNTK , today announced that it is continuing in negotiations with Texaco Natural Gas Inc., a subsidiary of Texaco Inc., to establish a business relationship to accelerate the development and licensing of Rentech's Process Technology and to commercially exploit the technology on a worldwide basis in conjunction with Texaco's proprietary gasification technology for the gasification of solids and liquid feedstocks. Rentech's management is optimistic that these negotiations will be successfully concluded in the relatively near future.

Rentech's Process Technology is a patented and proprietary process which can be used to convert synthesis gases into valuable liquid hydrocarbon products, such as naphtha, clean-burning diesel fuel, and high-grade industrial waxes. Rentech has received nine patents regarding its gas-to- liquids technology and has additional patent applications pending.
