Out of curiosity, when does this fad end? And why is Intel doing this?

I've been buying PC's since 1977. The PC's everybody wants cost about $3,000. They have always been around $3,000 and they will continue to be about $3,000 until something changes in the distribution model. For every low end PC that seems to be a great deal, The Fortune 500 companies are buying 10 $3,000 PC's for corporate use. If you believe the home market is a big market, then by all means, Celeron has it's place. But right now, find me a semi company that is making money off the home buyer.
