Mike, yes, I was around for the nifty-fifty. This does have that sort of feel as folks back then totally ignored lousy eps and said that growth stocks were growth stocks, period, and they wanted them. Until they didn't want them any more. <G> There was a huge "flight to quality," into names like Avon, Control Data and Polaroid that were going to grow forever even though they weren't growing at the time. Looks like Deja Vu all over again. How many Home Depots can these suckers build? Are they ever going to cancel Tim Allen's awful show? He does the same thing every episode. The writers must feel like they have the ultimate sinecure. Anyway, when that show is cancelled, Home Depot is out of here. Gateway is just silly. Crappy co. in a crappy industry and an overpriced stock. MB
