Randy you don't seriously think that I believe that the Chinese people are well represented by their leaders do you? Ref: yours, "In your posts, you seem to make no distinction between the current leadership of China and the Chinese people. Are they, in fact, one and the same in your opinion?"

Answer: If the current leadership and the Chinese people are the same then, since this is an investment foruum, I don't think we'll ever see the cash. Never.

I think that sometime in the 1950's, when the communist leadership moverd into the special domestic compounds reserved for "high" government officials increasingly the communist leadership lost touch with the Chinese people. That was 40 years ago Randy. That is a long time to "out of touch."

As to the Chinese humor I'd like you to make an experiment I suggested to an Indian hedge manager several years ago. Go to any Chinese restaurant. Order a meal. Let the waiter walk away ten feet and then call him back and change your order. Observe what happens.

Question: Would you want to do business with a people so devoted to service, with people so imbued with the idea that the customer is simply always right and is entitled to change his mind now and then, a people so jolly and happy that it just makes you want to live on Chinese food.

I know your answer already. This isn't China and these restaurants don't really serve Chinese food. Right?

My best to you,
