Wendy, my quick answer would be that you have more knowledge of some of these phone companies than I do, and even more so being located in New Brunswick. It never occurred to me before, but what with Premier McKenna's much-ballyhooed attempt to boost tech employment in NB in particular with getting call centres to set up there, there must be some investing possibilities there. It's the old Peter Lynch story, if you work in / near an industry you probably know more than you think. Fertile investing ground perhaps! That's all I'm saying for now, it's too hot to think!
