Andrew,

Re:TDFX is starting to look like the IoMega of the 3D world.

It all depends on earnings. IOM was doing fine until they report bad earnings. TDFX said all along that they are in line with the Street's estimates.

<TDFX is starting to look like the IoMega of the 3D world>

I concluded that iOmega was a company of morons when I tried to help my brother get an updated driver for his iOmega tape drive. Not on the Internet nor an FTP site, you actually had to make a pay call to a BBS, use a password (how the hell would you get that?) and then pray.

He even asked them why it wasn't on the internet, and they said, gee that would be a good idea, but we haven't had time. Duh, but you've had time to set up a BBS?

TDFX, on the other had, has done everything right so far but manipulate their own stock. Eventually, the Yahoos will be crying in pain just like the Netscape folks and TDFX investors will get it's deserved rewards.

TDFX is starting to look like the IoMega of the 3D world

Andrew it would be better to say that the 3D graphics accelerator sub-sector is the Iomega of the semiconductor world. This is not just a TDFX problem in my opinion. Graphics acceleration is moving from a separate chip to an integrated component of the CPU logic core, in the long run. We are talking about 1999 or 2000, but hey look what happened to Rambus because the market thinks everyone will be using their memory in computers next year.

I would still expect TDFX, NMGC, SIII to show a recovery and be tradeable, but all of the long term money is probably slowly moving away from this sub-sector.
