I hear ya - For awhile I was upset that a hungry, young company like ATHM was being tied to a "large" company like TCI! Now look what's happened!! :)

But seriously, if they can pay down TCI's debt to speed upgrades and provide more capital for energetic ATHM to deploy its product then I think things have just taken a large step forward. I don't expect much to change for about 6 monthes while everybody gets sorted out but after that I think it will come fast and furious. Because in addition to cable modems people can get internet through the set-top box. Or maybe they just want a video-phone in a couple rooms of the house and a seperate unit for digital cable and ATHM's In-Tune music service (how is that, by the way. It sounds neat!) and record either one on DVD. After all, the gov't just paved the way for non-cable companies to manufacture and sell these devices so they are going to take as many shapes as there are ideas. I'm always on the look out for ways to play the coming change. With Teo on the board this company's future just got a bit brighter.

I don't expect much movement until the board meeting when Teo official takes his place. After that it is up to him. I'm hoping that he will shed what he needs to and then combine us with some type of device maker that will position us well for what I described above. I have no idea who and I don't want to start any rumors but that is my summer wish-list!

Cheers,
John
