Wednesday June 24, 4:45 pm Eastern Time Quarterdeck sees loss in Q3, job cuts MARINA DEL REY, Calif., June 24 (Reuters) - Quarterdeck Corp. said Wednesday it expects weak revenues and an operating loss in the third quarter due to slow PC software sales in the United States and Europe in the wake of Microsoft's June 25 Windows '98 launch. The software company that specializes in PC helpware said in a statement that it will cut jobs and take a substantial charge for restructuring but it could not provide further details Wednesday. The company noted that it has achieved broad and balanced retail distribution for its product lines in preparation for the Windows launch but would not expect significant sales until the September quarter. In the year-ago quarter the company reported net income of $1 million or $0.02 per share on revenues of $25 million. In its second quarter ended March 31, 1998, the company reported a net loss of $7 million or $0.16 per diluted share on revenues of $13 million.
