Actually Bob, the Repubs will have trouble winning an election because the demos have stolen their best policies since Clinton/Dole ran. Pres. Clinton's success with the economy is their greatest challenge.

However, there are a few ways they could win voters. It would help If they would try to be more inclusive while campaigning.

The democrats invite women, all races, gays & white males who don't belong to the country club:O) to join. The Repubs invite the radical right, only "godly"(?) women & the tobacco industry to join their club.

Their emphasis on "family values" is admirable; however, they never execute their program in the best way. They don't take into consideration that any combination of mom, dad, child, mom/child, or dad/child is a family. Whatever the arrangement, it is a family to the child.

If the Repubs distance themselves from Jerry Falwell, Pat Robison, etc. they'll probably gain more voters than they'll lose. These men & their narrow opinions do not appeal to many americans.

Even citizens who believe in fiscal responsibility, less government, states rights, etc. will find it difficult to vote for anyone who cozies up to the radical right.
