Surely some folks have been completely wiped out already trying to short these stocks....

nahh. an amzn position could certainly be wiped out, but who would put their entire portfolio into an amzn position?

I haven't been a reader of amzn or other internet stock threads, but on the threads I do frequent, there has never been any mention of "free money" shorting internet stocks. Obviously since AMZN has gone up 1,002% in the last 52 weeks, it would have been better to be long. sorta like looking down from the top of a double-diamond ski hill.
