The following scenario is likely IMHO:

VVUS will anounce FDA approval. It will be a non-event. We all know it's going to happen. Amateur speculators who think they know something the rest of the world doesn't will sell when they don't see the pop they anticipated. We'll ride down past 5 and the margin calls will kick in . . . . we'll be at 4 within three days on heavy volume.

As for the buyout hope. I doubt it. If VVUS has a future (which I believe it does), it was cheap at $14 and cheap at $10 and cheap at $7.5 . . . . . noone showed any interest then, it's doubtful that they'll show any interest now.

My current strategy is to buy at six and sell covered 7.5s against it. Yep, I could miss "the big run-up" but I doubt it. In the mean-time, I'm generating real income and waiting for the tide to turn. And if I have to sell at 7.5, I've still made 25% in a real short time period.

CR

P.S. Caught the tail-end of a news story in my car coming back from work. A woman was apparently stabbed when she refused to give her _________ (friend/husband/lover?) a second ride. They specifically mentioned that he was on Viagra.
