You will get no argument from me re USA protectionist policies. Even in the case of so-called "unfair competition", I long ago decided that if some country wants to subsidize my consumption at the expense of their taxpayers, it is A-OK with me. Bring on the imports.

As for your US/UN/Oil Industry conspiracy theory vis Iraq, I think you credit the industry with far more influence than they actually have, and your dismissal of the threat posed by that thug in Baghdad seems similarly off base.

Now that I have violated Frost's 1st Law of Online Efficiency - "thou shalt not engage in political discussions" - you can load up and fire away <bseg>.
