You need to balance the thoughts of US vunerability to an embargo with the economic vunerability of the countries that won't get any cash for their oil. My bet's on the USA, but there's no need to even bet this scenerio.

We are now in a reverse of that situation in '73. An embargo is laughable, in reality. You're right there.

These NON OPEC (and even cheating OPEC nations) countries would be falling all over each other in any OPEN embargo to push their product into the US any way they could.

Their countries depend on revenue now more than ever, and we be it.

Why do you think they are cheating now? Demand was the imbalance then. Supply (or lack of demand) is the imbalance now.
