To some, perhaps, but not to most. It was widely know that Ascend's "gain" and 3Com's "loss" of systems market share was because it's a measurement of shipments into the sales channel, and 3Com was clearing the channel by deliberately not shipping into it.

Nonetheless, your point about good margins and a sequential uptick in systems shipments (despite lower unit prices) is a very strong positive.

It dropped because the whisper earning estimate by many analysts are $.12 and some afraid the system sale will have no growth. COMS stock performance in the last two months are based on FUD. COMS today has very strong enterprise LAN products - CoreBuilder series. CoreBuilder 9000 is finally shipping.
