Bob, Sorry this response was delayed. Had problems with gremlins getting online today. In the linking post you said the christian right that now control the Repub party represents the former values of the entire country not too long ago. I agree that the group represents a couple values worth holding onto as a country:1) patriotism(NOT the "my country right or wrong" type)and 2)family values(with a broader definition of a family). However, there are other former values that didn't serve us well as a nation that they want to retain. First, making any woman placed in an untenable situation by pregnancy a criminal. Second, intolerance of diversity. Here are two recent events in the news that to me represent what happens if the above "christian" values are retained:1) the incident in Texas when 3 sub-humans dragged a man to his death and 2)the "official" policy announced by Jerry Falwell's flock that a woman answers to her husband and he answers to God. HAHAHA!!(sorry, still makes me laugh when I think of it.) My former nominee refused to accept, so here's the one that could save the Repub's this election---Colin Powell. All those Reagan Demos would come flying back. take care, Ann
