No, I don't think Qcom's stock would explode on that news alone. I think it would move a few points.

I think Qcom shares would begin a sustained move up of ten points or more in short order if it showed breakeven on infrastructure builds, and good and improving margins on handsets, with ramping of new models somewhat ahead of schedule.

That's exactly my point. It IS a quite different situation from Rmbs. Losses on manufacturing have the potential of swamping IP royalties. Or causing near breakeven. Or if manufacturing instead shows strong and rising margins and volumes, moving the stock to 150 a share in a couple of years.
