Bear, Stearns & Co and JP Morgan are the underwriters.
First they distribute IPO shares to their own clients,
and then to retail brokers like Schwab, E*Trade, etc.

The best IPOs are usually snatched before it gets to
retail brokers.

If you check performance of latest IPOs available from
Schwab you'll see that most of them underperform.

I'm reading ORBCOMM 100+ pages prospectus, and still have
a lot of concerns about this IPO.

scwabb owns a otc house...mayer& schweitzer...so maybe they participate through the syndicates....
