PartyTime, my only disagreement with you on this is that if somebody speaks with a company official and then shares that information with the thread, they should attribute the conversation to the specific official - or else keep it to themselves (and, hopefully, do the right thing and not trade on that information).

Quite a while back, there was a "question and answer" e-mail with a company official that was actually quite good. It was attributed. And, although that official aparently regretted doing that, and having it attributed to him, it WAS the right way to handle it.

IF a company official speaks, let it be on the record. Otherwise, it is nothing but rumor and gossip.
