Whoa, what is this based on? <I've done some asking and from what I hear, their competitors make a better product. They are going head to head with inferior merchandise against much bigger players.> Before
accepting a statement like that, I need some serious specifics.

1. What products are seen as inferior & why
2. What products of what competitor are they being compared to
3. The background of the person making the comparison

I've been in info sys since 75 working as a clinical systems analyst in distributed systems & have taken several of the Novell CNE courses.

If you have a solid basis for I statement like this, I will give it due consideration, but I have a real problem with broad generalities.
Thanks, Scott

I can address the competition question. The *only* competitor of any worth is Digi (dgii) and they have been embroiled in their own fiasco. Old products, costly, loss of focus, etc. They are getting back on track but the current products cannot technically touch Equinox.

In every review for the past year Equinox has smoked the competition in performance, ease of use, cost, and reliabilty. Check out reports in SCO mag... Take a look at the eqnx web site for a complete list of reviews.

The product is based on the highest performance custom ASICs, and has the lowest mfg cost of any product out there - check their margins.

They are regularly knocking down oem business (for what it's worth - maybe we all wish they wern't right now ;-))) that used to go to Digi. OEMs put the products through quite a test and they seem to think they're good.

New products slated for the latter part of this year - I expect every bit as good as the old ones. I believe targeted towards the remote access market, but don't know too much. Eqnx is a technology company - they do tech really well! But they don't know how to market, promote, hype, etc... and looks like they don't know how to forecast either.

But the products are the best out there.
