I'll try to dig up the hyperlink. It was essentially a teaming up between IBM, and I think Hewlett Packard to print and deliver books (out of print only, I think, but publishing rights to be worked out for new books) to consumers and stores directly.

Figure if the idea takes off and reaches market, AMZN will come crashing down to earth. Just have to figure out when for one hell of a profitable short.

I think this is what you were looking for. Seems like any retailer, from AMZN to BKS to your local independent bookstore (both of them that's left) can do this if it takes off.
