Scam stocks? When does a stock become a scam stock? Is MSFT a scam stock with a sales to market value of +30 to 1? How about Iomega or NSCP at the crazy levels they sold at? How about an AOL which hasn't created much shareholder value, but has created huge market values.

From my experience it's much more fun to be long a rocket like ATHM then to be taking a short position on the internet stocks and watching them go up 5,10,15% in a day. ATHM looked like a scam stock until ATT paid the equivalent of $100 per share.

Anyway you cut it's all in the timing. If people out there are beating this market (S&P 500)by selling short, then I will bow down and kiss your feet. You are a miracle!

If people want to hedge they should hedge the market rather than hedge stocks, which is a recipe for disaster.

Let the buyers of this and other's advise remember that one of us is wrong, at least part of the time!

regards,

gw
