I think time is bi-directional. In fact, I read an interesting paper in the late seventies describing how to build a working time machine. We don't have the technology for it yet though, as it would employ a half-mile long cylinder as dense as a white dwarf star and have to be rotated at a minimum speed of 1/2 C.
