That is distressing news to an Intel investor. I hope Intel has a secret plan for this quandary. I will have to continue to pay close attention to this situation.

Now you see why I'm not sure about Intel as an investment.

I don't see it as a problem. AMD and Cyrix comprise a small portion of the processor pie. Intel is still the behemoth of the marketplace with widespread distribution of their products. I don't know if AMD still has their supply problems but last year, I tried to order an AMD K6 200mhz cpu but was placed on back-order for 4 weeks.

Intel will continue to dominate though it is suspect that they'll continue to enjoy the hefty margins of yesteryear as chips become commodities that trade like wheat. Well, sort of.
