(re: Dos, DR-DOS, Windows) That's a grey area. I was involed directly in that fiasco, and was interviewed by the FTC panel as a result. I don't think - from what I saw firsthand of the incident - that there was malicious intent involed on the part of MSFT. Cool Andy, tell us more. Did I at least get version numbers right? Windows 3.1? I'm mostly just going on memory from one recent article. Also, with Windows95, my understanding was that there was a real change made with OSR2, such that you couldn't really separate Win95 and DOS7?, and you could have exactly one version of Win95+dos on your machine. This is distinct from the original 3.1 MS-DOS only check, right? Or is it just that the multiboot flag? I got the impression it was something more. Cheers, Dan. P.S. For what it's worth, I like your 10% solution for patent law, where, say, 10% of revenue would go into a pool to cover patent royalties. Negotiating who gets how much would be tough, though. On copyright, well, Bill's moving beyond that, licensing, article 2B, and all that.
