Damn, I couldn't get the link to work and missed the 15 min limit on editing. Sorry, but search on Psion.
Michael, I realise that the OS will not be used by the consumer.

Maurice, They plan to charge $5 - $10 per phone for the use of the operating system. More importantly ownership of the OS gives power - or not - depending whether you believe US govt. or Bill Gates ;-)

I'm sorry that my message was so unprecise. What I meant was that the Palm user interface is the most installed interface by far for PDAs. Most of the add ons that will be used by these types of things could be used on either PDAs or PDAs with phones. The biggest market I would think would be for games or add on data stuff (ie excel type stuff). That is where the Q is ingeneous. I would assume that anything that would work on a Palm would also work on whatever they made with the Palm software. That means that all of the aps that people gin up for the most installed user interface will work on the Q PDA.

All this is assuming that they are actually making a PDA with a phone in it, and many other things. That is why I hate to speculate, that is how you end up with egg on your face.
